And right across the street, be sure to check out big fun at Asheville BookWorks as they welcome Drive-By Press from 1-5pm. Artists Gregory Nanney and Steven Prohira will be rolling through Ashville North Carolina to print outside at the on (((Dates snd time???.))) Come check out their custom, hand-cut woodblocks.

You select the design and placement on the shirt and its inked and printed to your specifications from their mobile printing press! Come see their collection of over 1000 prints gathered from across the country from hundreds of artists from coast to coast!!!

2nd Saturday Artist Market has a new home!!

The 2nd Saturday Artist Market returns for a second season with a new sponsor and a new home!

Crazy Green Studios welcomes The Rocket Club as event sponsor and also event host.  The Market will take place inside The Rocket Club on the 2nd Saturday of each month from March through December, from 11:00am - 5:00pm.

Vendors will have space for a 6' table and chairs or like-sized display, and in addition to the great art and craft vendors, we are pleased to add some of our areas great independent food vendors to the Market.  March will feature delicious treats from the soon-to-be-opened Zeytoon.

Returning to the monthly Market is the Community Booth. Each month we will host a local organization to support their efforts, help recruit volunteers and advertise events. In addition to the monthly featured organization, each month we will collect canned food and other non-perishables for MANNA FoodBank.

Any artists interested in vending, as well as culinary magicians and community organizations interested in using the Community Booth, can find all information at the blog site or email Lori at 'info' at 'crazygreenstudios.com'.

2nd Saturday Artist Market this weekend!

It's that time! If you're in the east-West Asheville area on Saturday, be sure to visit the 2nd Saturday Artist Market on Domino Lane, and stroll over through Christopher's Garden and see what delights await you there!

In addition to the participating artists and craftspeople, both anchor studios will be open. At Crazy Green Studios, I'll have a table of 'clearance' items that really want to find a home, and next door at Mimi Strang Design, Mimi is also clearing inventory to make room for her new work, so you'll find deals on the decorative and functional treasures you've been waiting for!

And in the Community Booth, you'll find information on many upcoming community events, cards for other local merchants and as always, you'll have the opportunity to drop off canned food and other non-perishables for MANNA FoodBank. You'll also be able to purchase bowls that will support Imagine Render's 'Empty Bowls Project', which also benefits MANNA FoodBank.

Click the image above to visit the Artist Market blog for profiles on our vendors, and you can find your way here with the maps to the right (also available at the Market blog!).

2nd Saturday Artist Market kicks off MANNAfest!

2nd Saturday Artist Market is back on July 11, and in addition to new and returning artists and craftspeople, and our Community Booth guests Koinonia, we are proud to partner with MANNA FoodBank as an Ambassador to help collect food in East West Asheville for MANNA FoodBank's MANNAfest: Neighborhood Food Drive.

Last fall, in the wake of increasing demand for emergency food assistance and decreasing food supplies, MANNA started a quarterly food drive program (MANNAfest) to help stock their shelves. They are teaming up with high school students in the fall, workplaces in the winter, faith groups in the spring and neighborhoods (that's us!) in the summer. I hope you'll consider helping support this drive by donating food.

Crazy Green Studios will be kicking off the drive at tomorrow's 2nd Saturday Artist Market and continuing to receive donations at the studio. We will then deliver our collections to MANNA, where it will be weighed, processed and provided to the agencies with whom MANNA partners.

If you'd like to bring donations to Crazy Green Studios, here's a list of the top ten most needed items:

1. canned meat (spam, ham, chicken)
2. tuna
3. peanut butter (plastic jars only please)
4. canned vegetables
5. canned/dried fruit
6. meal-in-a-can (beef stew, chili, etc.)
7. canned soup
8. dried/canned beans
9. boxed macaroni & cheese or other dinners
10. health & cleaning aids (soap, toothpaste, shampoo, detergent)

Saturday & Sunday, June 20-21: Markets abound!!!

The rains have stopped and the sun is back out - a perfect weekend for checking out two awesome ongoing Markets in Asheville. And if you're looking for a unique last-minute Dad's Day gift or if you just want to a nice slice of what's going on in Asheville, you'll find unlimited options at one of these great events:

See a wide range of artists, crafters and designers, get a snack from Bouchon's street food table and hear music by Kip and his band Rubber Cushions! Saturday, 11-4 (if the sun stays out, they'll go later!)

This month's Market features 20 artists and indie crafters - about half are returning and half new, so you know you'll find something new and exciting! Right next to Short Street Cakes for your sweet tooth stop: Saturday from 11am - 4pm.

On Sunday, the people are gathering at the Asheville People's Market! Buy, barter, swap - it's all happening in the lot across from Rosetta's Kitchen (and while you're there, check out the great garden that's growing under the overpass!). Sunday, starting at 11am.
